
Enter the First Annual Central Pennsylvania Crossword Competition to Benefit the Mid-State Literacy Council
When: Sunday, October 23, 2011 at 1:30 PM
Where: Community Room, Schlow Library (211 S. Allen Street, State College)
Deadline to Enter: Friday, October 21, 2011 at 5:00 PM
The competition will consist of two puzzles in the easy- and medium-skill range. Based on speed and accuracy, three finalists will compete for cash prizes by doing a third, more challenging puzzle. The puzzles, which have never before been released, will be provided by the Tribune Media Services and edited by Rich Norris, who also edits the Los Angeles Times crossword puzzle that appears in the Centre Daily Times. To be eligible, puzzlers must collect at least $75 in pledges to benefit the Mid-State Literacy Council.
Up to 1,000 in Cash Prizes in the following categories:
First Prize
Second Prize
Third Prize
Top solvers under 21 and over 70
Individual with highest pledges amount
How to Enter
- Get your Entry Form and Pledge Sheet by:
- Downloading and printing the following 2 forms:
- Pick up the forms at the Mid-State Literacy Council offices at 248 Calder Way, Suite 307, downtown State College (near Rotelli Pizza & Pasta Restaurant)
- Or, call the office to have your forms mailed to you: 814-238-1809
- Notify the Council office via email or call by 5:00 PM on Friday, October 21 to get your name on the list of contestants.
- We will collect your entry form and pledge sheet–and the money collected–on Sunday, October 23 at the Library.
